Development of Smart Waste Bin for Solid Waste Management

Growing urbanisation in developing countries, population growth, and changes human activities consumption patterns have resulted significant amounts of trash that must be appropriately disposed of, treated, managed to provide a sustainable environment reasonable standard life for the growing population. The aim paper is design smart dustbin proper disposal waste without any intervention by providing technology system monitoring, reducing time, effort, intervention. This presents bin integrated with microcontroller-based Arduino board which interfaced ultrasonic sensors, MQ-2 sensor, servo motor, LCD GSM modem. microcontroller programmed using C measures height dust sensor. Once gets pre-set level, activates modem send message designated number. status transferred line display on whenever it exceeds value. replacement traditional help efficient management assuring filled are emptied when value exceeded. also time involve checking number trips embarked collection vehicle total expenditure associated minimized. It eventually helps maintain cleanliness our environment. Therefore, makes more efficient.
